Thomas Müller is officially the most successful player in German history

Jakarta (threeriversburghblog) – Thomas Müller became the player with the most trophies in German history after Bayern Munich won the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund in the Allianz Arena on Thursday.

Joshua Kimmich scored a 3-2 win for his team in the 82nd minute in the Allianz Arena when they defeated the Bundesliga runner-up last season.

Corentin Tolisso and Müller gave Bayern a 2-0 lead, but Julian Brandt and Erling Haaland scored the goal for Dortmund.

In the end, Kimmich’s goal gave Bayern the victory and brought Müller the 27th trophy of his career.

The 31-year-old has won the Bundesliga nine times, the DFB Cup six times, two Champions League leagues, a World Cup, a Club World Cup, two UEFA Super Cups and six German Super Cups.

Müller won his 26th trophy last week when Bayern beat Sevilla 2-1 after extra time in the UEFA Super Cup.

Less than a week later he broke the record of former teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The surprise win was followed by a 4-1 defeat in the Bundesliga against Hoffenheim on Sunday, which ended an unbeaten 32-game run for Bayern.

Bayern won the treble last season before winning two trophies within a week in the new 2020-2021 season.

The Bavarian giants should return to the Bundesliga on Sunday against Hertha in the Allianz Arena.
